This is my auto-portrait..continued from the 'This is me.'I have to thank Dacheong coz everyday I'd pester him with my questions yet he was always helpful with the shadows, lights etc.
Took me more than a couple of weeks to do this! ouf!
The flower took me abt one hour! Yeah am real bad at painting
The hair! God! i almost left me bald! It's still not perfect but am tired with it for now.

You did a good work on her face and skin, I think you could have forced yourself into creating a background too - you have no idea how much influence a bg has on a painting. And, the ear could have needed a bit more work!

I have to say that I agree with Sandra that a background is very important; Pure white almost never works for portraits, and I think this hurts the image.
I suggest picking a fairly dark color for the bg next time, it'll help you introduce more colors to y our skin tones as well.
Overall, solid effort.

I think you could spend a bit more time on the hair to give it a more defined shape.
Ear and shoulder area could use more work.

It's not curly - hehe just kidding.
But the texture is not looking like a hair. My advice is to start with a big stripes of hair - to block it,and to continue to the light and detalization with a smaller brushes - till the tiniest, and you can use the smudge tool for this too
